HOLA MI HIJOS! 🧑🧒🧒
I LOVE YOU ALL 💕
I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🏠
I am currently learning Spanish, I have been over the years at my own pace. I am also learning Chinese (Mandarin), French and getting into Sign Language as well as the language of computers, Coding.
One of the ways I try to sharpen my vocabulary of words I have already learned is to refer to everyday things in my life by the word for it in Spanish.
My breakfast is “Desayuno”, my children “Mi Hijos” and any dog I might see, “Perro”. “Hijos” is children although if I were to say son or daughter it would be “Hijo” or “Hija” as you may recognize from the letters I wrote you. In Spanish there are words that are masculine and feminine, unlike English.
Here are a few everyday words that you can use that will get you along the way of being bilingual which is something that is very valuable in our country.
Hello – Hola
Goodbye – Adios
Food (Meal) – Camida
Water – Agua
School – Escuela
Bathroom – Baño
Fun – Divertida
Enjoy – Disfruta
Happy – Feliz
Excuse Me – Pardon
Please – Por Favor
Thank You – Gracias
You’re Welcome – De Nada
Learning is fun and when you learn other languages it helps you have access to a broader scope of communication by adding more humans that you can interact with.
The two biggest languages that I would encourage you to learn that would be the most beneficial would be Spanish and Sign Language.
We have a large population of Spanish speaking humans in the United States and Sign Language is something that can help you communicate with those who do not have the ability to hear you. It would be cool if you found yourself with the opportunity to surprise somebody who may feel like they aren’t able to communicate because the vast majority of people are not bilingual in our country and it was you that made it possible.
I hope you have a GREAT day.
Adios! 👋
