GOOD MORNING TO THE SON AND THE SKY❕👋🏼
ANÁLISIS / ANALYSE = “ANALYSIS” IN SPANISH 🇲🇽 / FRENCH 🇫🇷
I LOVE YOU 💓
Howl you doing❓
I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰
Today for you I have a post about how an abundance of options can be potentially overwhelming.
There is a saying “paralysis by analysis” and to me this means having difficulty committing to a decision when there are so many options that are “good” options that you begin to have options that would be an acceptable choice that begin to become “possibly” good options because there are more options to consider. The problem becomes not any good options but the time it takes to choose an option.
For example if the first “good” option was the only option it would not be a problem comfortably committing to that option. The list of multiple good choices becomes multiple lists that include good, bad, yet to be considered and a list as a place holder for current best.
If time is a factor then the continued search for a better option becomes an issue. If time is not an option the problem might be difficulty choosing between multiple options that you consider “equally good” and are struggling to come up with criteria that would separate the options in a way that would provide an obvious choice.
The same problem can be with bad options if only bad options are being considered as a way of choosing the “least bad” option as the preferred or “best” option.
When I write this blog everyday I can write about literally ANYTHING. This makes my options infinite when having to decide what to write. I have made this easier on myself by deciding each post will be about STEAM (do you remember what this means?) related topics or about us and our worlds.
It also helps when deciding by removing the pressure knowing regardless of topic it is the effort itself that makes any option a good option when the effort it takes to write the post comes after the choice of topic.
If you have so many good options you are having difficulty deciding what to choose consider yourself fortunate to have this be true versus a problem on your hands unless time is a factor.
If time is a factor decide what is most important and what option speaks to that the most and perhaps focus on the effort thereafter as what will be what you reflect on with respect to what could have been done differently knowing time was a factor when deciding and not your ability to make the best decision while under pressure.
The odds of a time sensitive decision being a critical decision are rare and when they are don’t be hard on yourself if you lack experience with timely decisions and/or did not know exactly what to do in that context when a decision is to be made.
Once you commit, stay committed unless you are more sure staying committed is a worse option than deciding to go another way. If the decision requires no commitment feel free to change your mind without pressure.
