(OCTOBER 30 2024 MAKE UP)

GOOD MORNING TO THE SON AND THE SKY❕👋🏼

I LOVE YOU 💓

Howl you doing❓

I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today for you I have a post about our home state and a brief history of its inhabitants.

Over 500 million years ago, believe it or not Michigan was covered with shallow tropical waters that including its first inhabitants which were sea creatures including Coral, Trilobites and Brachiopods. 🪸

There were no Dinosaurs in Michigan that left bones behind and not even much of anything outside of what was found in the sea.

This changed when millions of years later (between 12.000 and 2.6 million years ago) during the Ice Age with the frozen ground featured new inhabitants to include Mammoths and Mastodons. 🦣

Fast-forward to the end of the Ice Age and Michigan saw its first humans inhabit the land as warmer weather caused the glaciers covering our state (more on these tomorrow) to reveal land that was now hunting ground for humans.

As time went on the hunter gatherers living in what is now modern day Michigan advanced technology and culture that would evolve into some of America’s recognized first native inhabitants to include the Anishinaabe tribes still found in Michigan today among other tribes also still present.

After the arrival of humans from other continents over 400 years ago specifically Europe, the land began to look more diverse with the types of cultures that inhabited this land. English seeking a home in a land free of religious persecution arrived in America and those early colonist would later establishthe United States of America that united colonies along the Atlantic Coast and modern day neighboring states of the Atlantic.

Now in modern day Michigan you can find people from every corner of the earth and the cultures they bring with them that contributes to our country and state culture.

You are only 3rd generation Americans considering some of your great grandparents are immigrants from Spain and Mexico.

Do you ever use your right hand as a map and point to a spot on your hand representing where you live in Michigan (a common Michigander reference)❓
