I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today, for you, I have a post about YOU. I know that every post is about you and from time to time I like to dedicate the entire post to you versus you AND something hopefully interesting or educational.

I miss you guys. So much. I have never looked forward to anything more than spending time with you again. I cannot wait to give you a hug and catch up with you. I hope that you are well. I imagine what you might be doing all the time. I think about you every day and not just everyday but countless times throughout each day. I have never thought of two people more in my life and I would have it no other way.

I am so lucky to have you in my life. I am so lucky to be YOUR father. I am so lucky to have you as a teacher in life that I could not appreciate without the love I have for you. If you think you are not my teacher, understand that you are, and not just a teacher but my greatest teacher. When I learn about something with you in mind it resonates in a profound way unlike no other lesson.

I am proud of how I have approached being a dad but without you not only would I not be a dad but I would not have something so special that the lessons are backed with a supreme love that makes me want to understand. Even if it takes time for me to understand a lesson you have provided for me it is only because I have yet to reach a place of understanding with all things that it was not immediately obvious. When I am able to understand what I did or did not do that was something I would want to do or not do again the part of me that is potentially not proud of my approach, behavior or actions speaks to the love and respect I have for you. The part of me that is proud of my approach, behavior or actions is dependent on your presence in my life therefore the pride is experienced as gratitude.

If I could snap my fingers and make it so that I was able to see you when I wanted it would require me to go back in time and make different choices. In reality, this could not ever happen for two reasons. First, I do not have the ability to snap my fingers and travel through time 😏. Second, if this were to happen I would only have one of you.

I do not believe that everything happens for a reason but I do believe that the reason things happen is because of something more than our actions and intent. I believe we have influence over our existence but there is an undeniable influence to our thoughts, actions, behavior, intent, position, direction, approach, reactions, emotions, associations, desires, reflections, understanding (not just learning), potential, ability, dependence, habits, health, growth, suffering, good fortune, success, mistakes, belief in ourself, trust in others, acceptance, resistance (to rebel or stand up for ourself), commitment, honor (truth we tell ourself and others as well as how we conduct ourself alone or with witness), pace (in life and in all things), courage, ability to relate, sympathy, empathy, articulation with communication (how well we are able to express what we truly mean so that others may understand that truth), recover, desire to learn, support, independence, create, retreat from or triumph over adversity (triumph also including the honest attempt and effort regardless of victory), comprehension (when the information comes from another), past, present and future.

Ultimately, in my opinion, there is an influence outside of ourself with our life and life experiences that exist before we influence our experience of life ourself. So when I say I do not believe that everything happens for a reason it does not mean that I do not believe that anything and everything that we may or may not experience is a part of WHY anything and everything happens.

The ripples we make in the universe contribute to the symphony of the universe. Whether or not there is a conductor on stage there IS beautiful music that seems to have been written with a purpose created by each and every person that cast their pebble into the universal pond.

You make me see the world in a way that I do not need to understand it but makes me grateful we are in it. You make me see the universe in a way that I appreciate more through the lens of a father.

With your influence I believe the concept that it is possible to not know yet believe I can understand.
