Today, for you, I have a post about the different types of MAJOR sports championships.

First I will list the Championships I watch and why and a few memories of the specific championships I have witnessed then I will list the top 10 viewed in America and then the world.

My favorite MAJOR sports event to watch is the NFL’s Super Bowl. My favorite memory is when the New England Patriots came back from a 28-3 deficit in order to beat the Atlanta Falcons. At the time I was big fan of the New England Patriots because they were Red White and Blue with Tom Brady (My favorite football player) was quarterback. They were losing so bad that I actually went to sleep because I was extremely tired. I ended up waking up around 2 in the morning and was lucky that the highlights were on but they had yet to say the outcome of the game. I got to watch an accelerated version of the game and the highlights would reveal that play after play the Patriots got within position to actually catch up with enough time left to win. Score after score I felt myself get more and more hyped as I started to think that they might actually pull it off. It was probably less than 5 minutes of highlights but it was the most exciting highlights I have ever seen and still to this day because by the end of the highlight segment I watched the Patriots come from behind in historic fashion and win the Super Bowl❕ This is probably my favorite sports memory and it was the highlights not even the live broadcast.

Next up is the NBA Finals. The championship that comes to mind first that I was invested in the full 7 game series was when the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat when I was living in Texas. I was a fan of Dirk Nowitzki and he had yet to win a championship so I was rooting for Dallas even though I was actually a fan of the team they beat in 6 games the Miami Heat featuring my favorite basketball player LeBron James. That was the first year of the “Big 3” in Miami, LeBron, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Many of my fellow brothers in arms in my unit were watching the series and we would catch up and discuss the games the following mornings before we started physical training.

The next sport would be MMA however there have been so many good championship matches that I will just name a few of my top memories. Brock Lesnar over Frank Mir, Jon Jones over Daniel Cormier, The Ultimate Fighter season finals featuring Forrest Griffin over Stephen Bonner and Rashad Evans win in season 2. I was rooting for Rashad because he was from Michigan, worked at the local hospital and was a Spartan. Just a few weeks after Rashad won I actually ran into him one night in East Lansing and we took a photo together.

Other than my top 3 I just mentioned I will often try to watch (maybe not live but highlights without knowing who won) the MLB’s World Series, Tennis Majors, FIFA’s World Cup, Olympic Gold Matches, NCAA Football and Basketball National Championships, PGA’s Master’s Tournament, NHL’s Stanley Cup and the Strongest Man in the World (I actually went to the Arnold Classic (Strongman) one year and it was pretty fun).

I like to watch sports and championships are usually more exciting because of the stakes. You can tell how much the teams or athletes want to win based on the celebration, level of competition and the looks on the faces of those who win or finished second.
