Today, for you, I have a post about the difference between an image and a photo.

A photo is a picture taken with a camera that was a real life observation and documented. If it is automatically captured without someone observing in real time the moment in time captured was still documented.

An image can be many things including a photo.

A selfie is a photo but a selfie that has been edited is an image.

In fact any editing of a photo leaves you with an image and not a photo because it does not represent the moment in time the photo is documenting.

A drawing is an image but if you take a picture of that drawing that image of the drawing is now also a photo.

Historically photos were snapshots in time of what could be observed if when the photo was taken the observer of the photo was present for that photo.

Now photos are a combination of historical documents and images considering that moment in time is not reflected by what is presented with or without the intention to be an honest moment in time.

I do not see a problem with editing photos and I edit photos all the time including my favorite photos.

I would make it a point to attempt to honor the moment captured to be a priority over an image that when presented would reflect something dishonest.
