JUNE 13 2025
(FEBRUARY 02 2024 MAKE UP)
GOOD MORNING TO THE SON AND THE SKY❕👋🏼
SUPERSTICIÓN / SUPERSTITION = “SUPERSTITION” IN SPANISH 🇲🇽 / FRENCH 🇫🇷
I LOVE YOU 💓
Howl you doing❓
I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰
Today, for you, I have a post about superstitions.
Superstition is defined as: excessive credulous belief in and reverence for the supernatural.
Supernatural: attributed to some force beyond scientific.
Basically if one were superstitious they would have a belief in something that would not be a fact of science and associate the reason the thing they do or do not do with something that does not make sense outside of the superstitious influence.
For example there are athletes who wear the same socks they had on on when they won a game of significance (first game, tournament, championship etc) and continue to wear those same socks every time they play a game because they believe that the socks might have been the reason they won. Now those socks are “lucky” socks even though there is no way to say for certain that the socks were the reason they won when wearing them.
Other superstitions include knocking your knuckles on wood when somebody says something in reference to a future result that they may want or not want to occur with a belief that by “knocking on wood” it would increase the chance of their desired result.
The date on today’s post is the 13th and it is a Friday. Some people believe that the date (13th) and day of the week (Friday) when together creates something more than just the calendar showing the number of days that have gone by that month and the day of the week it currently is with the belief that negative things will happen.
I am writing this post on June 15th and nothing bad happened last Friday just in case you were wondering 😊
Another popular superstition that involves a day of the year was referenced in a previous post on our blog is St. Patrick’s Day. Those who do not wear green are pinched by those who observe the holiday and give themself permission to pinch you based on Irish Folklore referencing a pinching leprechaun.
I do not have any superstitions that I follow or practice but I am a fan of routines. Some could say doing things the same way in the same order for a specific thing can be somewhat superstitious. I think of it more an intent to be consistent.
Do you do anything that could be considered superstitious?
