I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today, for you, I have a post about your musical family.

You know I love music. Listening to music, writing music, playing instruments and experiencing live music shows are all something I have always enjoyed and always will.

One of the reasons I like music the way I do is I grew up in a musical home. My mom (your grandma) was always listening to music when cleaning around the house, when driving in a car and she would also sing along with the radio.

My dad was a musician (your grandpa) and was in several bands throughout my youth and still performs to this day.

One of his bands in the 90’s was a country band that performed all over the state and toured outside of Michigan as well.

The group was Al Lopez & The Mackinaw Bandits and the original music they performed was on an album called “Smooth Runnin’ Engine”.

I remember many of the shows they played but one stands out. It was at a festival now known as “Common Ground” and they opened up for legendary group (Mexican culture legends specifically) “The Texas Tornados”.

The crowd was thousands upon thousands of individuals cheering and enjoying the performance of your grandpa and his bandmates and I was proud.

Here is a song off that album that I think is appropriate for our blog.
