I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today, for you, I have a post about modern day comfort vs. compared to the historical experience.

My Air Conditioning is currently out in my apartment. Maintenance ordered a part and until it arrives and is installed I am using a fan.

The difference between a fan and using AC is very noticeable. At one point prior to AC being in our homes we only had fans. Before electric fans we had to rely on the shade, breeze or maybe a hand fan you would wave to create a breeze.

The breeze and the shade was what cooled most people relied on to keep cool outside of sweating which meant you were already hot enough for your body to try to cool itself off.

Most people who ever lived never experienced air conditioning or even an electric fan.

With my AC out it is a reminder of some of the modern day comforts can alter our experience so much that when they are not available it feels like something is missing instead of closer to the experience most of anyone ever could relate to as normal.
