I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today, for you, I have a post about trash, more specifically the trash not properly disposed of that is currently floating in the ocean.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a gathering of floating trash (mostly plastic) that is in the Pacific Ocean that is roughly three times bigger than the country of France or as you will see in an image below twice the size of Texas.

The orange area shows the massive size of the trash patch currently floating in our ocean.

The patch grows 10 times its size roughly every decade and has since the 1940s.

The patch being older than your grandparents shows how long humans have been contributing to this monstrosity and although we as humans are collectively more aware of the practice of proper trash disposal the amount of items being produced that make up what the patch is comprised of has increased.

As I have mentioned previously I myself recycle and do not litter. Not everyone has a concern for the environment but everyone would be concerned if our environment was no longer habitable.

If you aren’t already recycling it is never to late to start.

As they say, “Give a hoot, don’t pollute”.
