Today, for you, I have a post about this holiday weekend we call Labor Day weekend.

For many in Michigan with Labor Day being a national holiday there is a “3 day weekend” starting today with Saturday, Sunday and Monday off from school and work.

It is common for Michiganders to go “up north” throughout the summer and Labor Day weekend is often the last chance to enjoy a vacation before it gets too cold.

The holiday “Labor Day” itself is on the first Monday of September each year to recognize the contributions of America’s workforce.

I will be using the extended weekend to take my time wrapping up my school obligations at a comfortable pace and perhaps a little overdue spring cleaning.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: AUG 29 1966 was the Beatles last live performance. Considering I have referenced the Beatles on a previous “This Day In History” I chose this event in honor of your grandparents (my parents).
