Today, for you, I have a post about my post from the other day about misunderstandings and assumptions.

Today I didn’t have my bus pass when I walked to the bus stop.

I asked the bus driver if he accepted apple pay and he said “come on the bus and I will give you a ride”.

So I got on the bus and before getting off I asked for a transfer ticket.

Just before heading back home I was at the bus stop and noticed the ticket said “No Return Trips Allowed”.

I got on the bus and the bus driver told me that the ticket was for the wrong direction but she still gave me a ride.

Did anybody do anything wrong?

No.

But when I got on the bus the first time I knew it was possible I might not be riding the bus back.

However and luckily the kindness of the bus drivers gave me a ride to where I had to go and back home so it wasn’t an issue and although I could have walked back for some not having a ride back would have been enough to not be able to accept a free ride to the place I was going but I still saw the lesson in thinking about saying yes to something that can be good in the moment but make things harder down the road.

So consider when you make assumptions one lesson and another lesson is to think about how what you do now can affect what you will experience later especially when things will seem easier in the moment.
