Today, for you, I have a post about the “This Day In History” fact below.

Really this post is more about a concept.

The concept is information change awareness over time.

Imagine playing a game of hide and seek and nobody told you that they weren’t playing anymore so you kept hiding for over an hour until you found out that the game was over and nobody was playing anymore and had not been playing for nearly an hour. Would you be angry? Would you want to play that game again?

Imagine being hungry and you are waiting for food to arrive. Days go by and still no food but then you are told that the food was dropped off days ago but nobody told you. How would you feel? Would you feel the same as you might in the Hide and Seek scenario or is it different when it involves food (survival)?

It is interesting what can happen over time when it comes to “what is going on”.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY JANUARY 24 1972 a Japanese soldier was found that had been for the last 27 years under the impression that he was still fighting a war that ended nearly 3 decades ago. News never reached the man that the war was over until 27 years later and when he returned home to Japan he was greeted as a hero. His name was Hiroo Onoda.
