Today, for you, I have a post about Wrestling.

When I think of the word wrestling 2 things come to mind, professional wrestling and amateur wrestling.

This is an example of where the words “professional” and “amateur” apply in context that suggest the opposite of what is in fact what it is.

I shared on previous post with you on my perspective on amateur and professional being labels rather than facts although those labels do suggest something that is true with respect to one’s progression of “career”.

A professional football player is more skilled than an amateur football player in a way that if an amateur player was “good” (eye of the beholder) enough to play in the NFL the vast majority would however they are not selected by the NFL selectors in the pool of options of available talent. In this way it is fair to say a NFL player is probably more of a valuable player to an NFL team than an Amateur football player would if you were to compare the NFL to any other football league today with their respective pools of available talent.

With Professional Wrestling more often than not the professional wrestlers are less skilled than amateur wrestlers in the sport of wrestling.

However Professional Wrestling is not the progression of the career of the sport of wrestling but an entirely different industry that is best described as live entertainment.

It is easy how one might think Professional Wrestling is Wrestling at a professional level but it is in fact a different type of event all together because one is sport competition (amateur wrestling) and the other is scripted live entertainment (WWE or Pro Wrestling).
