Today, for you, I have a post about what being together means.

When playing video games with my friends as a kid we actually had to be together as in right next to each other in order to play games together. We either took turns using the same controller or had two controllers for each of us connected to the same console.

Today when playing a video game with another you could be on different sides of the world.

When I was a kid I remember when consoles first introduced the ability to play “4 player video games or 1-4 Player games”. You could play alone or with one, two or three other players.

This was pretty cool because it changed the vibe competing against 3 others in real time and also introduced the ability to have team vs team in 2 on 2 or even 3 vs 1.

One early game that is a good example of a 1vs1vs1vs1 (everyone man for themself or later called free for all) was a game called “Fuzion Frenzy”.

The game was a bunch of deifferwent mini games that took only a couple minutes each with points given to the players results. First place given the most points and 4th place the least.

Once you won enough points after playing enough games to get the points needed to win overall you would have the final results for 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th place overall.

It was fun for multiple reasons. You had 4 people playing at once and even if you didn’t win a mini game you could still win the game overall with enough points to reach the point limit that ends the game and the total points at the end of the game gave you the results.

Sometimes the overall winner wins 2nd place each mini game and that was enough to have the most points at the end with the other players alternating first, third and fourth place finishes.

These days you can be playing with 150 people at the same time with the internet (online gaming).

Inagine how somebody might feel if playing 4 people at the same time was cool what they might think about adding 146 more.

Pretty cool how far things have come in a short period of time.

Pretty interesting what “together” means and how that might look in that same period of time from 4 player to 150 player.

Today, for you, I have another post about the truth, more specifically your “personal truth” as an undisputed truth.

Let’s say someone asks you what your favorite color is. If you answer honestly, there will never be anything more true than your answer when you said it.

Your favorite color may change over time but if you were asked the same question and you reply honestly, both answers were true and nothing well ever be more true.

Almost everything that could be true depends on things that might not be as true as your answer to your favorite color. Let me explain.

Let’s say you grow up thinking your favorite ice cream comes from the ice cream parlor. This could all be true.

Years later the ice cream parlor could be now called a “dairy deli”. The dairy deli still has your favorite ice cream but if asked where does your favorite ice cream come from, your answer is different yet it is the same ice cream you thought of to answer the question.

Your answer is true but the words used are no longer the same words causing you to have a different answer but your answer remains an honest answer therefore true.

So think about the difference between the truth as an honest answer and truth as a different answer but the “same answer” with words no longer changing the “truth” but not changing your personal truth. You can change your mind, you may use different words, but your truth always comes from your same personal truth.

Your personal truth is never more or less true than any undisputed truth.

Today, for you, I have a post about the truth, more specifically, your truth.

You may have heard “there are two sides of the truth”.

I believe there are at least two sides of the truth.

When it comes to two people sharing an opinion or different versions of something that occurred, even when they agree there are three sides of the truth. There is the first person’s truth, the second person’s truth (different or the same as the first person) and the “actual” truth.

In the previous example of multiple “truths” it is possible that all three versions are the same.

It is also possible that all three are different.

It also possible that all three can be different yet all three be honest.

When it comes to a truth we all can agree on it is extremely rare because you would need a statement like “we are experiencing”. If you simply interact with that statement you are proof of that statement and to argue or disagree it is proof of that statement.

Something as simple as 1+1 can be disagreed on because instead of saying 1+1=2 you could say 1+1 is 11 by not adding the numbers to get the sum but adding the two numbers to one another giving you 11.

When you have a truth that belongs to you and you alone then never let anyone tell you that you are wrong.

You are beautiful. You are worthy. You are loved. All those things are true about you and it is my truth because I truly believe those things are true about you. I also believe those things are THE truth and even for some crazy reason anybody would ever disagree it does not change MY truth so YOU could always say that it is THE truth.

I want to talk more about the truth but for today, I think that is all the truth I need to say for now.

Today, for you, I have a post about our neighbors to the north Canada.

My first impression

when I first visited Canada as a kid was that is much cleaner than America but other than that it looked very similar.

I also remember it being the first time having to convert dollars into another currency (Canadian dollars).

I have been there as an adult too and that time I remember it having the experience of going through customs which is on the border between USA and Canada and exist as a checkpoint that prevents things from going into either country that isn’t supposed to.

Big Country: Canada is the second biggest country in the whole world! So Many Lakes: Canada has more lakes than any other country—over 2 million! Longest Beach Borders: Canada has the longest coastline, where land meets the ocean. Cold North Pole Stuff: The North Pole (the one with Santa!) is very close to the top of Canada. Lots of Trees: Almost half of Canada is covered in forests—home to animals like moose, bears, and wolves.

Canada’s Birthday: Canada became a country on July 1, 1867 (that’s why we have Canada Day!). Two Main Languages: People speak English and French in Canada. Next time I go to Canada I would like to visit Toronto because it is an international destination (brings people from all around the world each year for tourism, education and finance).

Today, for you, I have a post about cleaning.

Whether what you are cleaning is your body or a countertop when it comes to cleaning, there are different results based on your intent and effort.

If you are cleaning a countertop it could mean you are simply removing any objects that don’t belong.

It could also mean you are wiping down the countertop with a clean wet sponge (or a clean rag which I prefer over sponges because they need to be sterilized in between uses and a rag in the dishwasher is much easier).

It could also mean you are using cleaning products that you let soak briefly on the countertop before scrubbing the surface then following up with a clean wet wipe and finishing with a clean dry cloth to soak up the rinse wipe. This to me is a deep clean.

If you are simply wiping the surface to remove visible debris or liquids, this is a once over.

There is no need to deep clean the countertops everyday unless everyday for some reason there is something that was left on the surface that could make you sick like raw chicken for example.

A “once over” however is only as good as how clean the surface was before the once over (perhaps a deep clean a couple days ago with nothing that touched the countertop that could make you sick).

If you do a once over it can look clean but there might be bacteria or viruses still remaining that you can’t see so keep that in mind.

You could also look at your body in a similar way to the countertop.

Most of us have a specific routine how and when we clean our body.

If you are doing a deep clean everyday it should be for a reason. I myself shower everyday and usually go no more than a few days without a deep clean.

If I took my time yesterday with a deep clean and I did not get sweaty or dirty since I might just use my hand with soap and do a once over.

What I wouldn’t be ok with is a once over each time I shower even if it was everyday.

If I am just using my hands to clean myself and not a exfoliating (scrubber) glove I can’t clean myself as well because things could still be under my nails, on my scalp or between my toes for example.

There is also the effort with the intent.

If you aren’t trying to clean as well as you can with a deep clean that isn’t really a deep clean although it may be better than a once over.

Only you can say if you tried or not so if you think you did, than that is your version of a deep clean or even a once over.

Stay clean and stay healthy❕

PS… you can probably tell by how much I talk about cleaning that I think it is important. Although it is important it is also not necessary to worry if you think you are trying and being mindful when you are dealing with contamination and or touching your face. 🛀

Today, for you, I have a post about the finale to the NBA Championship (NBA Finals).

As I have mentioned in previous post as a way of documenting certain current events for the sake of a timeline reference for post throughout the year, I will remain consistent with sharing my thoughts and feelings about major sports championships.

In the NBA the championship is won by reaching 4 wins first (best of 7) between the two remaining teams each year. There are two conferences in the NBA, the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. At the end of each season each conference has a tournament (the Playoffs) and the winners of those tournaments compete against one another for the League Championship.

This year the Championship featured the Indiana Pacers representing the Eastern Conference and the Oklahoma City Thunder representing Western Conference.

Game 7 is only played when both teams have each won 3 games in the series as it is first to four wins that wins the championship.

A “Game 7” suggests a competitive series and as a fan gives you the most out of the experience with the maximum number of games possible to enjoy.

Unfortunately this Game 7 had an injury by the star player from the Pacers who suffered what would have likely been a season ending injury even though when injured the season had less than an hour of game time left.

The Pacers were not able to overcome missing their star player (Tyrese Halliburton) but still put up a good fight against the Thunder.

The Thunder still may have won without Haliburton’s injury but many will wonder (myself included) if things would have turned out different with the Haliburton not leaving the game early.

Congrats to the Thunder for winning their first NBA Championship.

Today, for you, I have a post about modern day comfort vs. compared to the historical experience.

My Air Conditioning is currently out in my apartment. Maintenance ordered a part and until it arrives and is installed I am using a fan.

The difference between a fan and using AC is very noticeable. At one point prior to AC being in our homes we only had fans. Before electric fans we had to rely on the shade, breeze or maybe a hand fan you would wave to create a breeze.

The breeze and the shade was what cooled most people relied on to keep cool outside of sweating which meant you were already hot enough for your body to try to cool itself off.

Most people who ever lived never experienced air conditioning or even an electric fan.

With my AC out it is a reminder of some of the modern day comforts can alter our experience so much that when they are not available it feels like something is missing instead of closer to the experience most of anyone ever could relate to as normal.

Today, for you, I have a post about the Japanese sport called Sumo Wrestling.

The sport dates back over 1500 years ago in ancient Japan and is currently growing in popularity with what has been a recent development in terms of the sport’s history, the inclusion of women competing in Sumo.

The sport involves a competition between two wrestlers inside of a ring made of clay that is covered in sand with a goal of forcing your opponent out of the ring.

Similar to a sport like football, there is a title for the competitor in relation to the sport the way a quarterback is a position on a team, sumo refers to each competitor as a “Rikishi”.

Power, leverage and momentum are critical aspects of the sport and because of this a Rikishi often weighs much more than the average weight for their height with some weighing over a quarter ton (500 pounds!).

There are not many components to a Sumo Wrestling match and it still looks similar to the way it was done for over a thousand years making it very unique for its ancient history and consistency of the experience.

The competitors walk to the ring and the this alone can take longer than the actual wrestling that occurs in an entire match.

The wrestlers perform a ritualistic cleansing act before the match using salt to purify the ring and stomping to symbolically make way for the match to be not disturbed by negative energy.

A third person referred to as a Gyōji oversees the match (referee) and initiates the start of the match, presents match results in addition to motivating the competitors while wrestling.

A Rikishi who has become a Champion becomes referred to a “Yokozuna” and in Japan that title is prestigious. A Yokozuna retains the that title until they retire.

Here is a sample of a Sumo match and you will see why I said it can take longer for the competitors to walk to the ring than a match.

I hope everything is GREAT with you and at home 🥰

Today, for you, I have a post about a non profit organization that focus on combating childhood cancer and medical research called “St. Jude”. (Saint Jude not street jude). 😆

I began to donate to the organization earlier this year and I intend to continue contributing as long as I can.

There are some rare childhood illnesses that either have a very specific treatment plan or in some cases a lack of treatment plans available that make St. Jude unique with its ability to treat the patients who they help.

It is my understanding that when St. Jude accept a patient they do what they can to treat the patient and remove the financial burden from the family that allows the family to focus on supporting their child getting healthy.

The medical experts are some of the world’s most talented and its medical staff some of the most qualified to facilitate the process of restoring hope in desperate times.

I support organizations like this and as a father greatly appreciate the intent of St. Jude and other organizations with a similar intent.
