Today, for you, I have a post about the imagination, specifically my imagination.

Every day, and I literally mean every day, I think about you. I have said this before but to just say “I think of you” is not doing justice to the extent that this is true.

Not only are you on my mind but I use my mind to imagine us spending time together. I never imagine anything that would result in what I believe anything you wouldn’t want.

Love, strength, fun, pride, and growth are just some of the themes often present.

I imagine future dates of events that I hope and intend on being actual experiences we have together.

I think about you as a baby and a kid, as an adult and even an old person 👵🏻👴🏻

I imagine what you might be doing in real life in the past, present and future but I also create fantastical events and worlds that we could exist in as if I was watching an adventure fantasy movie with you both as the main characters and me in a supporting role (I have seen some pretty sweet stuff 😉).

It is probably true (I am just now thinking about this and would say it is true) there are days I imagine you more than me when using my imagination.

You have given me so many memories that are only in my head but when I remember those things that I imagined, they feel like I am remembering something as real as any fond and loving memory from our past would make me feel.

I go to these “happy places” in my mind , with you the ones I love , because I miss you and to be honest it kinda feels like we are hanging out so I also go there simply because I want to and it is fun.

I can only imagine what you think of this post… until you let me know one day yourself 🐺

Today, for you, I have a post about the goose.

I see geese all the time when walking around the city. You might not expect to hear someone say this but like you I live on the Grand River as it runs through each of our cities. Because of the proximity to the river there is an abundance of waterfowl to observe.

As you know geese are actually quite big especially when compared to ducks. I will often see a gaggle of goslings following there mother (group of young or baby geese) and depending on how old the young are they look more like or different than the mom.

The young geese have different types of feathers and are also a different color. Eventually the fluffy “down” feathers will be replaced with the flight feathers seen on adults. I took a picture of some geese today and I can not say for sure but I think I seen the same gaggle not long ago when the goslings were more fluffy.

Here are some interesting facts about geese and also Canadian geese specially as they are the birds in the picture I will share below:

1. They can walk and swim on their first day!
   Baby geese are super fast learners—they’re ready to go just hours after they hatch!
2. They follow their parents everywhere.
   When they hatch, the first thing they see becomes “mom and dad.” So they follow their real parents… or sometimes even a person!
3. They grow up really fast.
   In just 10 weeks, a gosling can grow as big as a grown-up goose!
4. They stay with their families for a long time.
   Baby geese don’t just grow up and fly away—they stay with their parents for almost a whole year!
5. They love grass!
   Their favorite food is grass, and they nibble on it all day long with their family.

1. They marry for life.
   Mommy and daddy goose stay together forever—like best friends who never leave each other.
2. They fly in a big V shape.
   This cool flying trick helps them go super far without getting tired. They even take turns leading!
3. They remember their favorite places.
   Every year, they go back to the same pond or field to lay eggs and raise babies.
4. They are super protectors.
   If you get too close to their babies, they might hiss or chase you to keep their family safe!
5. They live in cities too!
   Canadian geese like parks, ponds, and even golf courses. They’re not just wild—they’re great at living near people.
6. They can live a long time.
   Some geese live more than 20 years—almost like grandparents!

Today, for you, I have a post about my teeth. Specifically, the gap or gaps between my teeth especially my front teeth.

When I was in 10th grade I got braces on my teeth. I was supposed to have them for 2-3 years however in 12th grade I wanted to join the ARMY and I was not able to go to bootcamp with braces.

I went to the orthodontist to get my braces off early and although he did not say he would not do it for me he did advise me that if I were to get the braces off early my teeth would not settle in the way that the initial plan intended them to do.

He used his hand to describe the pattern my teeth would move and I understood what he said in the moment but my desire to join the ARMY was more than my desire to have perfect teeth.

I did understand what he was saying but I did not know that the decision was not something I could make and have the ability to know how I would feel later in time when the consequences of removing my braces early was realized.

Years later and I mean many years later (over a decade) I began to develop a gap between my front teeth. Over the course of the next decade the gap became bigger and with the bigger gap it changed the appearance of my teeth and smile.

There would be a moment when I saw the gap as something that was less than desirable but it came at a point in my life when I had less of a concern with my smile and photos of me smiling so that the gap was less of a concern.

If I could go back I would have kept my braces on for the proper amount of time because I did not leave for the ARMY until after they were scheduled to be removed but due to a recruiter essentially dropping the ball my date was moved back for eligibility.

I did in fact as you are aware eventually join the ARMY and served my contract. Now that I have a gap in my teeth it comes in the form of a reminder of a few things. I rarely ever think about the gap and when I do it almost always is when someone is pointing out the gap that was not always there.

I smile more now than I ever have than I can remember and even when taking photos I still smile ear to ear without any shame or concern of my teeth.

The other reminder is over time we can make choices that do not come to bear the result of our decision until much later. These can be good or bad depending on how you look at it but in the case of my teeth it was a good thing that included some negative aspects.

Sometimes I think about getting braces again to fix my teeth but I care less about my smile than what could be the benefits of having braces again. However braces do not just fix your teeth. Braces (as you know) can also fix the alignment of your jaw and if I develop an issue with chewing while eating I would then probably get braces because it is not a matter of aesthetic but a practical decision that would fix a physical ailment.

At one point in my life it is possible the aesthetic would be the only motivation needed to want to fix my teeth but at this point in my life I am comfortable with who I am including my smile.

Today, for you, I have a post about the new school week starting tomorrow.

I already have a post in mind for tomorrow 😉 so I will talk about something else happening tomorrow that is far less important than the subject matter shared in tomorrow’s post.

So tomorrow (how many times can I say tomorrow without saying something? lol) begins the Summer semester at Lansing Community College. I will be taking two classes or at least I am registered for two classes and unless they for some reason do not remain available then I will be taking Psychology and US History (beginning of America’s history until 1877 so basically the first 100 years.).

I am looking forward to the accelerated semester with the difference being a 8 week semester as opposed to the standard 16 week semester offered in the spring and fall like the Spanish class I just completed in the 16 week spring semester.

I will share more with you on the classes over the course of the semester.
