Today, for you, I have a post about today’s date and how it is a cultural observance of the movie “Star Wars” because of the date being the “Fourth” and how it sounds similar to the word “Force” and “The Force” being an important part of the Star Wars story.

I thought this was the second post about Star Wars and May 4th yet when I searched using the search function for a previous post Star Wars post it did not pop up. So unless my memory is superior to the search ability of a computer this is the first Star Wars post.

Each Star Wars movie begins with “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…”. Each movie has reference to what is known as the “force” which is essentially the ability to focus and harness the power of all of those who represent the force to help you see not using your eyes but the guidance of your ancestors and fellow force practitioners.

There is a scene where one of the main characters of the Star Wars movies named Luke Skywalker closes his eyes and is able to defend himself from a series of lasers fired from a training robot.

At first Luke is skeptical that the force will help him with his effort but tries again giving the force the benefit of a doubt (or at least not doubting) that the force will help him and he successfully summons the force and is successful in his training effort.

Although the force is not real, what is real is the influence that the belief in yourself when you try is a profound fact. You may not need to close your eyes and summon the help from anyone or anything but you can concentrate on the task at hand with the belief that if you try you will succeed instead of just attempting or hoping to be successful.

The most important thing when a desire to be successful with any task in my opinion is the effort or the “try” with the attempt.

Next but not second is the belief that you can do it.

Those two things together, belief and effort together is something magical not unlike the force.

Today, for you, I have a post about the 12 notes on a piano.

The white keys on a piano represent a range of notes starting from left to right a repeating series of 7 notes.

Most often the first white key will be a C then from left to right each next white key will be the next letter of the alphabet until you reach G then it starts over with A.

So it would look like if you were playing just the white keys C D E F G A B C.

The black keys represent the sounds found in between these whole notes and are known as sharps or flats (not flatus 😜).

Every song you have ever heard is made up of these 7 notes and the notes in between.

On a piano the notes in between are the black keys.

C# D# F# G# A# (# stands for sharp).

There are no notes between the notes B and C and between E and F.

With just 12 sounds and higher and lower pitches of those 12 sounds all the music of the world is heard.

Today, for you, I have a post about the fart.

Not much to say here. Let’s look at some facts. 🤣

Here are some interesting facts about the fart:
1. Everybody toots! Even moms, dads, teachers, and astronauts in space. It’s totally normal and healthy!
2. Fart is just a nickname: The fancy science word for it is “flatulence.”

Flatus = Fart

Flatulence = To Fart

3. Toots are like gas bubbles: When you eat food, your belly breaks it down and makes tiny gas bubbles—those bubbles have to come out somehow!
4. Some animals are fart champions: Cows, elephants, and even zebras can let out big farts because they eat a lot of plants.
5. Beans are the fart food kings: Beans make us toot because they have fiber and sugar that your tummy has to work really hard to digest.
6. Farts can be silent… or silly loud: The sound depends on how fast the gas escapes and how tight your bottom muscles are—kind of like playing a trumpet!
7. Farts can be funny, not mean: It’s okay to laugh about toots, but it’s nice to say “excuse me” so others feel comfortable too.
8. Dinosaurs probably farted too: Just imagine how loud a dino toot might’ve been!

Today, for you, I have a post about the hiccup.

I learned a few fascinating things while researching today’s post.

First I will share some interesting facts and then comment.

Here are some interesting facts on the hiccup:
1. Involuntary Reflex: A hiccup is caused by an involuntary contraction of the diaphragm, followed by the rapid closure of the vocal cords, which produces the characteristic “hic” sound.
2. Medical Term: The medical term for hiccups is singultus, which comes from the Latin word for “to catch one’s breath while sobbing.”
3. No Clear Purpose: Unlike many reflexes, hiccups don’t seem to serve a clear biological purpose—scientists still debate why we have them.
4. Triggers Vary Widely: Common triggers include eating too quickly, spicy food, carbonated beverages, excitement, stress, or sudden temperature changes.
5. Longest Recorded Hiccup Attack: Charles Osborne from the U.S. had hiccups for 68 years, from 1922 to 1990, and holds the Guinness World Record.
6. Fetal Hiccups: Babies can hiccup in the womb, which is considered a normal part of fetal development.
7. Possible Link to Evolution: One theory suggests hiccups are a leftover reflex from amphibian ancestors who used a similar mechanism to help them breathe underwater.
8. Home Remedies Are Mostly Anecdotal: Holding your breath, drinking water upside down, or getting scared are common remedies, but they work inconsistently and often due to distraction or luck.

First off I did not know that the word “hiccup” is not the “actual” name with respect to the medical term and that word being singultus. Similar to a fart not being the actual name of the medical term which is “flatus” and when farting “flatulence”. So hiccup and fart are both accurate having the same definition as the medical term but those bodily functions have medical terms which I consider the most accurate name.

What I found most interesting was the fact that we do not actually know why we hiccup unlike knowing why we flatus because our body is relieving the pressure of built up gas from the digestion process and swallowing the air we breathe.

Perhaps tomorrow’s post will be an “expansion” on the fart 💩

They say the only thing to fear is fear itself.

I do not agree.

I think fear can be something that keeps us safe and makes us strong.

Fear is a sign that you should be careful and without that sign you might do something that would cause you harm.

Fear is something we can overcome and through that process find our strength we did not know we posses.

Fear is an example of what is opposite of hope. Without something to fear that we might lose we would not need hope to fight for it.

It is ok to fear but you do not need to focus on fear when you can make a decision to seek your strength, be cautious yet determined and let hope and love be what leads you.

I have been to number one on the list below and it was when I went to visit my best friend from my time in the military.

It was a blast and the most different place than anywhere I have ever been.

Everything was different and I mean everything. The food, the culture, the look, the feel, the language and the people.

I was able to see things I will always be grateful for most of all my friend and his generosity as a host.

I am speaking of Tokyo, Japan and like I have mentioned previously, I hope to one day return with you to see for yourself.

I would also like to one day visit Mexico City which is also on the list below and which I have also previously mentioned.

Today, for you, I have a post about my favorite type of dog the Chihuahua.

You will notice that Chihuahua is spelled the same in English, Spanish and French because it is a proper noun which is a name or place and Chihuahua is both a name of a breed and a place❕

I have had two chihuahuas (Sigfreed and LaLa) both mentioned on our blog in previous post and 8 if you count their pups (Arlington, Kratos, Amada, Baby Sigfreed, David Lee and Sergeant Pepper).

I have many fond memories of the chihuahuas in my life and I am grateful that I got to know the breed and will likely one day have another chihuahua in my life.

Although chihuahuas are small they have a big personality and are very loyal companions.

Sigfreed would usually sleep with me every night and I would tax him some kisses before crawling under the blanket.

Here are some interesting facts about the Chihuahua:
1. Smallest Dog Breed:
Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed in the world — some weigh as little as 2 pounds (0.9 kg)!
2. Ancient Origins:
They trace back to the ancient Techichi dogs kept by the Toltec civilization in Mexico around the 9th century.
3. Named After a Mexican State:
They’re named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where the modern breed was first discovered in the 1800s.
4. Big Personality:
Despite their tiny size, Chihuahuas are famously bold, confident, and sometimes even a little bossy — often called having a “Napoleon complex.”
5. Long Lifespan:
They live a long time compared to many breeds — often 14 to 17 years, and some even live into their 20s!
6. Two Coat Types:
Chihuahuas can have smooth (short-haired) or long-haired coats. Both types are purebred!
7. Warmth Lovers:
Chihuahuas naturally love warm weather and often seek out sunny spots or cozy blankets because they get cold easily.
8. Apple vs. Deer Heads:
There are two common head shapes: apple-head (more rounded skull and shorter snout) and deer-head (slimmer skull and longer snout).
9. Big Eyes and Ears:
Their oversized eyes and ears aren’t just cute — their hearing is exceptionally sharp for such a small dog!
