Do you ever feel like you can run through walls? Do you ever feel like you can shake the earth. Mother Nature shows us beauty but also provides a humble perspective to what beauty can be. Natural disasters are horrible. But we often see the best of ourselves after. It would be great to not get this reminder and sometimes it’s not obvious immediately what is beautiful about something. The pain can be real as so is the healing. Only time and perspective can shift emotions attached to something traumatic.

Yesterday I met a dog named Charley. Today I had an encounter with a Hawk that made me think of my SON.

Thanks. I had not appreciated animals or our planet as much as I do after my Son and Sky increased my capacity and awareness.

This morning I woke up and realized that I had signed up for BJJ but forgot about setting my alarm. Luckily I woke up in time to go but because it wasn’t on my mind this morning I considered bailing out. I didn’t have the proper clothes immediately available, I’ve been on hiatus for nearly a year and I was anxious about going even when I signed up.

I showed up.

The class included literally the thing I was fearing the most in BJJ. Wrestling style take downs. I feel like this is where the biggest risk of injury is. Falling with your own weight can be enough to injure but add the weight of others and it can be even worse. But I wasn’t falling. I was learning to fall. With the guidance and demonstrations of others I practiced falling today. It was beautiful.

I would like to pay gratitude to my children. Every day that I think of you and lead my life with you on my mind and in my heart, I rest truly. Even when I am awake it feels like a peaceful dream.

I heard this from something or somewhere once and it really resonated with me.

“You go quicker alone, further together”

Just like it is said that two heads are better than one, there is strength in numbers.

Whether it’s a relationship with another, a community or a united nation… world, this is true.

Next time you tie your shoes use one hand. Next time you are cold imagine having less layers. Imagine what it would be like to only be able to rely on yourself.

It will be obvious when it’s distance you prioritize over pace or vice versa what is most contextually appropriate.

It can be hard to forgive. It can be hard to say I am sorry. Even harder sometimes is to apologize and forgive yourself.

I am practicing both my apologies and my ability to forgive.

I have been practicing mostly in private but very recently I have opened up to the practice not being confined by embarrassment. This is tough for me because while practicing both apologies and forgivenesses, (mostly apologies) I weep.

I have noticed that there is an order of operations to harvest the biggest yield with this effort. Forgive yourself only once you made sure any apology due is observed. Forgive others before seeking an apology “owed”.

If compelled to apologize or forgive again, do so with the same vigor that moved you originally. Refine through repetition, just like anything else.
