Today’s post is about recycling.

I have been recycling my garbage for years now even though I have been aware of recycling much longer.

I used to throw trash out of my car window when I was younger and today that is something I would not do.

My point is I have grown to appreciate the concept of recycling and it requires little additional effort to contribute to less pollution and more value with resources that can be recycled.

I think what changed my approach to waste disposal was the idea that what is convenient for one to rid the trash on hand is probably not convenient for the environment.

I have been to places that have large populations and clean city streets and that is not for any reason other than that population maintaining that condition.

I have yet to follow through with my intention to fill up a trash bag of public trash on roadsides or parks but in 2025 I will. Focusing on my own trash is one thing and thinking about other’s trash is another. Until that moment I will continue to recycle.

I will revisit the concept and value of recycling in future post.

Today’s post is about a modern historical event and an achievement of the human race.

On October 13th 2024 the company SpaceX launched a rocket into space and reclaimed the portion of the rocket used to initiate the launch using the same structure from which it was launched.

The ability to keep portions of the rocket for future use in a timely manner will save and reduce cost associated with future missions.

The mechanism used to “catch” the returning portion of the rocket are referred to as “chopsticks”.

The journey towards the possibility of planetary travel has reached a milestone getting humans closer to making that possibility a reality.

Today I will “begin” this post with the call to attention with the familiarity of the structure of any post on this blog of LOVE 😉

I would often say “In today’s post” and then provide a description of the general subject matter you could expect.

The reason for mentioning this is now that we are into year 3 (🥰) of this blog I have kept what has been observed every post for a reason. It will always be something I want to say and allows me to focus time creating each post for you on the creative and unique “middle” of every post.

I will be adding or modifying parts of the blog in future post so there can be more unique daily contributions similar to the foreign language word/phrase of the day.

Happy New Year once again and I for one am excited for 2025❕

I have set a goal to include more healthy systems of love (habits and rituals) in each and every day and starting with today.

Here is today’s gratuity practice and it should look familiar because I have presented this to you previously on this blog.

My goal is to have a daily practice with meditation, journaling, a post on this blog (I refer to this blog sometimes as TS&TSR) , an hour of effort with Alpha Wolf Tribe , yoga (at least stretching) and observation of gratuity.

Today I have a post that is a review of the year 2024. 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣

To summarize 2024 in a single word, I would say “Growth”. 📈

Every year will have moments that will be appreciated more than others. When comparing years there will be some that are more appreciated than others. Not unlike each year, each day provides opportunities for growth.

I have an ongoing intention to grow as a person and 2024 offered plenty of opportunities. I did not use every opportunity that had potential for growth but I did apply myself in a way that it was an honest effort. 💪🏼

I have become better at practicing patience and this also relates to my expectation of growth with respect to the time it may take for progress to be had so that growth is realized.

I am going to once again have the intention to grow as a father/man/human in 2025 as well as practicing patience & LEADING WITH LOVE 💟

I hope you had a wonderful 2024 and wish you a HAPPY 2025 and may it be your best year yet. I can’t wait to see you! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Today I have a post about the holiday New Year’s Day and the observation of a year’s end and recognition of the next calendar day holiday with tomorrow’s “New Year’s Eve”.

I often reference a holiday as the subject matter if on the day I am posting happens to be a holiday.

The point of any and every post is to provide a loving reminder of how much you mean to me and show my love and gratitude for you, my children.

The secondary intention is to include in addition to that symbol of love a variety of things that I hope you find interesting.

The reason today’s topic is New Year’s Eve is I want to use tomorrow’s end of year date (December 31st) to review the year.

I find it interesting that only some holidays have the “Eve” addition as in Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Christmas is a religious holiday and New Year’s Day is an observation of time.

I suppose one could say eve on the day prior to any holiday and it would be an accurate statement.

According to ChatGPT the reason some holidays have an eve and others do not is the preparation that goes into various holidays versus the mere recognition of a concept or event.

The holidays that often include a planned gathering have an “Eve” for example thanksgiving (No official Eve) and Christmas (Eve being a national holiday) have an expectation of a planned gathering.

A holiday like President’s Day or Flag Day usually aren’t associated with a cultural planned gathering.

The official reason in my opinion why some holidays either have an “Eve” or not is the agreement to maintain the tradition of those before us.

In my lifetime some holidays have been added to the calendar and others have been removed or renamed.

The concept of a holiday is itself an agreement of something that the belief it deserves recognition and to observe that reason of significance by the people of the land.

I like New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for reasons that have to do with my own life. My past, present and future are all considered with the encouragement of those holidays and the reminder of everyone else also has a past, present and future.

Today I am starting a new series for our blog that will be incorporating live music.

The idea for today is to capture with my phone a recording of me playing guitar.

What I am going to do is write a “Riff” which in guitar lingo means an idea. I am a guitar Noodler. Noodling on a guitar is playing the guitar with the only intention being playing the guitar and not any specific music. I plan on practicing more than noodling in 2025.

I will include more music in future post that I will write on the day the post goes live.

I remember my dad (your grandpa) playing guitar growing up and I ended up learning how to play guitar myself. Maybe you will end up learning an instrument. I hope you do.

• Hanging Gardens of Babylon (Iraq) – Existence debated.

Today I have a post about non verbal communication.

I have made previous post about AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE and that is a form of non verbal communication but ASL is a non verbal language with a “correct” or at least pre determined and agreed way of executing.

The type of non verbal communication I am posting about today is the kind where you do not know how to say what you want to say but you can use your hands and other various mechanisms to attempt to communicate to your intended recipient in hope that they might understand.

An example of this would be you are hungry and you want to tell someone this for the reason it may result in food. You might act as if you have a bowl of food in your hand and with one hand “hold” the imaginary bowl and use your other hand to “hold” an imaginary spoon and make the motion of the spoon going into the bowl and then to your mouth and begin to act as if you are chewing the imaginary food.

This is likely to be understood without saying a word.

The point of communicating in this way is the language you speak and the language of the other whom you are attempting to communicate with does not understand your language.

This does not prevent you from communicating.

What prevents you from communicating is the lack of effort. However there may be more complexed concepts that you have no way of confidently using your hands to represent the idea in your head to the capacity of what you might do with or without the assistance of a prop.

One example is what your idea of the universe is. You might be able to communicate in a way that the person says “Universe” but just because they understood the subject matter in a single word you were saying non verbally does not mean that they understand how you think and fee about the universe.

My point is this. Some things can be successfully communicated when not using the spoken or written word. Sometimes you might not be able to get your message to be understood (or understand another’s non verbal).

It does not mean you won’t get close enough to potentially get a desired result. The effort and commitment may allow the language barrier to not prevent your intention.

Today I have a post about something I was thinking about and this is the idea that we do not need numbers until you need math.

Imagine looking down at your hand as if you were observing your hand with that intention. You look at your hand and see one thing. You then move your fingers and that one thing is moving but if each finger can move separately or all at the same time this is a different observation while using your same hand as an example of what can experienced.

It was one thing and that one thing started moving and that what was moving was more than that one thing.

You do not need to know the concept of numbers, mathematics or quantity to know there is a difference in experience while observing your hand.

You do not need to describe “one” hand as if it was how many you were looking at. You do not need to know that there are “four” fingers and “one” thumb moving to tell that there is a difference between what it was you were looking at having different things that were moving. You do not need to know the name of what it was you were looking at that began to move or the names of the different things that were moving to know the difference that your hand includes your fingers but your fingers are also not your hand.

You could give a detailed description of this observation without using numbers but you would also be aware that it involved multiple things you could consider.

There are several concepts you might take away from this observation of your hand.

One concept is that of “Quantity” (an amount or number of something). By looking at your fingers on your hand you have an example of something that is more than one with the comparison of your hand after moving your fingers compared to before you began to move your fingers when initially observing your hand as a single object. Not that it just looked different but you could see more than just one thing moving knowing that each finger moving could be seen as moving different things even though they are attached to the same hand. If you were watching someone else do this experiment you could see the fingers in a way that without considering the attachment to the hand, if you were to say how many different things you observed moving you might not say only one.

Another concept would be what a “Description” (detailed information about something) is and how what is used to describe something is a reason that numbers can be used outside of Mathematics.

If there was a word for each number that was used in a way to describe what would represent a specific quantity, that could be the only reason that you would need that word. For example, this person is 4 years old and this person is 10 years old could be this person is “word” years old and this person is “different word” years old with those 2 words representing the amount of years that person is old.

Mathematics however also has a purpose. Although numbers can be used as part of a description they can also have a function that is different that a detailed description providing the information necessary to give you what would used in order to describe something.

For example a backyard that is 20 feet long and 20 feet wide has a “Area” of 400 square feet. You could say to someone that the backyard is 20 feet by 20 feet (20′ x 20′) and that could be a way to describe it but if someone needs to know the area of that yard you first need to know before you could say 400 square feet that you must multiply the length and width of the yard to provide that answer.

To describe a person in a black t shirt, you need know what a T shirt is and the color black before you could provide that description but there is no formula similar to the formula used to find the “Area” of something (Length multiplied by Width). You only to need to recall from memory what a T shirt is and what the color black looks like to use these words in a discription. The “Area” of something is information that does not utlilize the memory to recall what something always is to say what it is but is information that needs a formula in addition to the memory of how to apply that formula in order to provide as a description.

It is interesting how numbers can be used to represent quantity but they do not need to be.
