I am currently watching the last minute of the Lions vs Dolphins game and I am excited for the season!

Are you going to football camp this year?

I will be rooting for the Lions as always and I am also curious how the Steelers will do this year with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.

Today, for you, I have a post about you.

You are both and each my favorite thing that I love the most that is most important to me.

I know you do not always have the opportunity to interact with one another but one day you will.

When you can, it is my hope that you do often.

It is a special thing to have a sibling.

It is also special to have a sibling that is something that you are not.

One of you the brother the other the sister and with your individual and unique perspectives and experiences allowing you to interact in a way that you will enrich the mind of the other with love and knowledge.

Be available when the other needs you and check in to see if everything is ok even when you think things are fine.

One day you will have a list of priorities and obligations that may not include the other but if you want to you can always make it possible for your brother or your sister to be apart of what it is that you consider important enough to make sure they are a part of your daily considerations.

Today, for you, I have a post about potential with time.

There are things that can influence our potential at any given moment and there are things that can influence our potential or the potential like time.

People say “Time heals all wounds” and to me this speaks to what I am talking about with potential with time.

There are some things that depend on a specific amount of time or a specific unknown amount of time in order for the result to be known or experienced.

One thing that comes to mind is an experience I had while deployed overseas in the Army.

There were Japanese pilots wearing Japanese flag uniforms that were responsible for transporting our unit from Kuwait to Iraq.

It crossed my mind at the time that it was interesting having that flag (Japan) be worn by the pilots when only a couple of generations previously those Japanese pilots would have been seen as the enemy by the US.

Now decades later those pilots were not enemies to the US but allies (friendly) to the US and working together.

In our own life there will be times when we want to have something or do something that is not yet possible but remain possible as long as you stick with it and when the right amount of time has gone by will be available.

There will also be times when things seem one way and with time seem another.

Sometimes the passage of time will be the only thing that is needed to provide a different result from our past.

Today, for you, I have a post about the most popular pets in the United States and the most popular pets in a few other countries for “pur”spective.

In the United States the top 10 pets are the following:

1. Dogs
2. Cats 
3. Freshwater Fish
4. Small Animals (Hamsters, rabbits for example)
5. Birds
6. Reptiles
7. Horses
8. Saltwater Fish
9. Poultry (like backyard chickens)
10. Ferrets

I myself have had at one point in my life 5 of the top 10 pets those being dog, cat, freshwater fish, small animal and reptile. 

I for some reason see horses as something different than a pet but I get why they can be called pets and on the list of top 10. 

I have mentioned how I feel about pet ownership being something that I have evolved to feel different about as I get older and if the animal has the ability to leave and it doesn't being a good indicator if it wants to be apart of your "family". It is my belief that the vast majority of pets if given the opportunity to leave would in fact leave. 

In Italy and Spain the most common pet is a Bird. In China and India the most common pet is also a dog. 

The top 3 pets found in any country around the world seems to be made up of Dogs, Cats, Fish and Birds.

BASURA / ORDURES = “TRASH” IN SPANISH 🇲🇽 / FRENCH 🇫🇷

Today, for you, I have a post about trash, more specifically the trash not properly disposed of that is currently floating in the ocean.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a gathering of floating trash (mostly plastic) that is in the Pacific Ocean that is roughly three times bigger than the country of France or as you will see in an image below twice the size of Texas.

The orange area shows the massive size of the trash patch currently floating in our ocean.

The patch grows 10 times its size roughly every decade and has since the 1940s.

The patch being older than your grandparents shows how long humans have been contributing to this monstrosity and although we as humans are collectively more aware of the practice of proper trash disposal the amount of items being produced that make up what the patch is comprised of has increased.

As I have mentioned previously I myself recycle and do not litter. Not everyone has a concern for the environment but everyone would be concerned if our environment was no longer habitable.

If you aren’t already recycling it is never to late to start.

As they say, “Give a hoot, don’t pollute”.

Today, for you, I have a post about my upcoming semester starting next week.

This semester I will be finishing the required courses that will fulfill what is called the Michigan Transfer Agreement which is a system of standardized courses that are transferable to all schools of higher education in Michigan.

After next semester I will be transfering to Grand Valley in Grand Rapids in your neck if the woods.

This fall I will be taking Math, Astronomy as I have previously mentioned, Human Nutrition, Political Science and Beginners Piano.

I am currently in between the summer and fall semesters so its kinda like my version of a 2 week summer break.

I am looking forward to the full course load and I will share with you along the way how things are going.

Today, for you, I have a post about space or outer space.

The TV show “Star Trek” opens with a monologue (a speech) and it goes like this:

“Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.” 

Later the series modified the last part to say “no one” rather than no man.

Even in the original series there were women as well as alien races that were apart of the storylines and in later series of the show alien races were apart of the crew of the starship that was the main set of every show and the vehicle that the characters used to explore space or “the final frontier”.

Last night I was looking at the night sky and there was a full moon and Jupiter and Venus were bright and visible.

There has been significant progress in the exploration of space and similar to the show Star Trek we now even have a branch of the government dedicated to outer space “Space Force”.

I am taking astronomy this semester and I imagine in addition to previous cosmic post there will be many more in the upcoming months.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: AUG 10 1990 the “Magellen” probe reqched venus sent by NASA allowing images of the surface of Venus to be sent back to Earth.

AUG 10 2003 the first wedding in space was held via satellite link allowing a Russian Astronaut (Cosmonaut) to marry his partner back on Earth

Today, for you, I have a post about word play.

I am a fan of word play as you may have noticed and often include word play in the titles of the post on our blog.

A lot of the titles of whatever it is I am writing will include word play as a way of capturing what the main takeaway of the writing is intended to be.

The title for today’s post includes the “Drama” emoji which represents the type of play you might watch at a theater but the word “play” in “word play” is meant not to reference the theater but the recreational creative use of words to say something in addition to what may or may not be obvious but could be easily understood if it was brought to your attention.

My upcoming book was inspired by a movie that had a tag line that sounded similar and in some ways was about a concept that I use as my inspiration for the title of the book.

My daily list of things to do is called “Task at a Glance” and I often spell it as TASK @@ which to me looks like two eyes “glancing” at the word “task” therefore when I read it it says “Task at a Glance”. To me this is a type of word play using symbols in addition to words similar to today’s post title.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: AUGUST 08 1969 The iconic “Abbey Lane” photo was taken that was used for the cover of the album “Abbey Lane” by the Beatles. I remember my parents had this album cover framed on our wall when I was growing up. The Beatles were also the topic of conversation when your grandparents (my parents) met each other.

Today, for you, I have a post about the progress towards spending time with you.

There was an appointment tomorrow that was rescheduled to a date yet to be determined however the fact that it was rescheduled does not change the fact that we are one step closer to spending time with one another.

Without knowing exactly how many steps will be required in order for us to be able to spend time with one another each and every step is worth celebrating and is something that represents the progress that is required for the goal of spending time with you to be possible and the progress of each and every step to be in the present moment.

The potential still remains that it will be in the very near future compared to the length of time it has been since we have last spent time with one another that the moment of reunification will be experienced.

I am happy to share this update and even happier thinking how with each step I am one step closer to you.
