Today, for you, I have a post about the Japanese art form known as Origami.

You may have noticed Origami is written the same in both Spanish and French because the word “Origami” is Japanese meaning “Folding Paper”.

Since the invention of paper over a thousand years ago the Japanese took the sheet of paper and used it to create art, not with the paper as the canvas but the paper as the object of art itself.

With only a few rules, one sheet of paper and only folding allowed (no tape or scissors) what can be done with folding a single sheet of paper in very specific ways is amazing.

With patience and a how to instructional video you too can create many things by folding paper such as birds, dragons, insects.

Some types of Origami has the ability to move when you interact with it and this type of Origami is known as “Action Origami”. For example you can pull the paper tail of a bird to make its paper wings flap.

I will leave below a how to video link and at some point today I will also attempt to recreate the Origami and I will share a photo.

Also this video uses scissors which are traditionally not allowed but you can use scissors if you want. I tore my paper to try a more traditional approach.

Today, for you, I have a post about visiting your uncle this morning at the hospital. He is good.

This morning your uncle (my brother) underwent a successful procedure and he is currently recovering and doing well.

This procedure involved the brain so it was something that has been on the family’s mind since the procedure was scheduled over 5 weeks ago.

I thought sharing the news of your uncles procedure would provide an opportunity to once again highlight what this morning was really all about and that was family and not a procedure.

It was nice seeing your aunt (my sister) and your grandparents (my parents) along with your uncle’s wife all together in support of our loved one.

Hopefully you got a chance to see the video I sent of everyone saying hello to you from the hospital this morning. They miss you too.

Today, for you, I have a follow up on yesterday’s Lions post.

I hope you enjoyed the game! I was thinking about you throughout the game and late in the 4th quarter I was starting to feel energized when it was 16-16 with less than 2 minutes remaining.

Great game and even if the Lions would have lost it would have been a great game minus the final score.

I remember years ago when I used to watch football games and if the team I was rooting for did not win it would influence me in a negative way and sometimes if the team was losing early in the game it would compromise the experience of watching the game.

To me it is odd when you are not enjoying the game because your team is losing but then all of a sudden if your team is winning you are once again enjoying the game.

I do not let the game become something that makes me have a “bad day” or “feel bad” or get angry or any other negative emotion or headspace.

I know it is possible the team I am rooting for may win and they may lose but I am not watching the game hoping that my team wins so I can feel good.

I feel good. Then I watch the game. After the game, still good. I will dictate how the day goes more than a football game.

Today, for you, I have a post about the NFL regular season finale tomorrow and some thoughts on the Detroit Lions current winning season streak.

The Detroit Lions are currently sitting at 8-8 and this means that 4 seasons in a row the Detroit Lions with Motor City Dan Campbell “MCDC” as Head Coach have not had a losing season.

Tomorrow the Detroit Lions play the Chicago Bears and if the Lions are victorious it would extend the winning season streak to 4.

If the Lions are not victorious it will not change the result of the season other than the record because the Lions are not in the playoffs but it would end the streaks.

What a streak it has been considering the history of rooting for the Detroit Lions. There were many games this season that could have gone the other way in addition to a number of injuries on the roster but ultimately, that is football.

I remain excited for the future with the Lions and I will continue to enjoy watching games rooting for them alongside you and hoping you can always watch a game and enjoy it without needing a team to win because then you can always enjoy the game and sometimes the team you are rooting for wins and that is the cherry on top but watching the game just so you can enjoy watching the game does not allow the result of the game to make the experience of watching the game to be compromised.

I just quickly want to revisit how important and precious our most recent time has been. Thaak you for spending time with me and I am excited to spend time with you again in the near future!

During the period of time we have been visiting most recently I was as you are aware in the middle of my fall semester at school and that semester has now come to an end.

Only one semester left and then it is of to GR!

I am super excited to be closer to your neck of the woods.

Once I am in GR it will not be long until I will begin my next semester at a new school continuing my higher education.

Those will be the big three events in 2026 as far as my plan goes but I am looking forward to many other things and who knows what could happen!

I hope you take time to think about 2025 in a way that it will improve your 2026.

I am so very happy, excited and proud to be making this post today. Since my last update we have spent time with one another.

Years in the making.

Worth every second. Always will be.

You will always be worth whatever it takes.

You will always be my truest representation and example of LOVE known and LOVE felt.

I want to elaborate more but I think it would be best to tell you slowly over time why we had to be apart for so long.

In our last few recent visits I wanted to focus on just being present and available to appreciate spending time with you.

What is important is when we saw each other I seen you smile. I heard you laugh. I heard you tell me you love me. I got to hear in your new (to me) voice tell me “I love you”. The new voice instantly becoming your present voice and to me a voice heard being so different than the one that last told me “I love you” spoke to both the time period since I have last heard it and to all the growth I have missed yet was SO HAPPY and PROUD to see when spending time with who you are now.

I will expand on this tomorrow but for now I want to point out that it is January 01, 2026 and I am so excited for what is coming up in the near future and most excited about what 2026 looks like as a father.

Happy New Year and may 2026 be our best year yet.

JANUARY 01 45 B.C. was the introduction of "Julian Calendar" the calendar we use today in the United States and in many other parts of the world. The calendar was created in order to improve the accuracy of how time was kept by having 365 and one half days a year with one extra day (366) every 4 years.
