Today for you I have a post about today’s holiday “Cinco de Mayo” which means “the fifth of May” and celebrates the country Mexico’s Independance Day (similar to our other holiday in the United States “The 4th of July” but with your families other side (my dad/your grandparents) having Native blood and being part chicano with your great grandmother born in Mexico.
So maybe Cinco de Mayo does not feel like the fourth of July and in some ways maybe it should the way it would for our ancestors and family still here today.

Today for you I have a post about songs that were written for something specific where the song was not the main attraction as to why the song was being recorded but recorded to supplement the main attraction like a product ad that has a theme song for the product like “Hot Pockets”.
Another type of “song” (some refer to a short song that would be used for a TV ad or something of a similar nature a “Jingle”.).
Commercials both on a screen or audio featuring music with lyrics (words) are also songs as well as “theme songs” from various shows that include a theme song (usually observed as an intro previous to the episodes story or shortly after the episodes story begins with a “teaser” of what the episode is about and once the plot is revealed the theme song is cued.
So there are “jingles”, “theme songs”, etc (etc means etcetera and is defined as: Etcetera (etc.) is used at the end of a list to imply that there are more items on that list of a similar nature. For example a list with pets might say “dog, cat, fish, etc” and when using etcetera at the end of the list you are also including any other pet one might think of that you did not include in addition to what was already mentioned like “rodent, reptile, rabbit” however by using etcetera you also included rodents, reptiles and rabbits without having to mention them because of the similar nature to the animals already mentioned in that they are all types of “pets” (or as we have mentioned “Animal Companions”).

Today for you I have a post about being mindful when you find your body in an awkward position when doing something that of a sudden movement being a scenario that depending on lifestyle be any level of legitimate concern that another would find no problem at all with having considered the exact scenario only difference being the perspective of the individual’s whom considered.
This concept is something that would be common to be expressed with elderly humans who maintain an active lifestyle regardless of the condition of their physical health.
If one remains active more often than not the longevity of that lifespan associated with an active lifestyle is a longer lifetime and a longer period of what that body would be eligible to express and experience within that lifespan.
This concept is usually accompanied by another concept of natural deterioration that occurs from the use of the body over the years in addition to a body that is being used while the body itself is a perishable item in addition to the modifications of time spent under gravity, exposure to radiation, exposure to the elements which erode and the low level damage that occurs in a way that is undetectable but theoretically true which each step we take when placing for down being possible if we do not see the pebble we might step on.
This could also apply to someone who is young and healthy as well. The idea that you can move your body in ways an old person can’t says more about the old person than it does the child however just because you can move your body in ways an elderly person may not (imagine dancing while jumping up on to and off of the couch in the living room and imagine your mom’s grandma trying to copy you in a way that she attempts to do the same dance. Do you think the old lady could dance like you in the same way? It is my belief that the elderly woman who would get around using a two handed walker is likely not going to be exploding from the ground with enough force to thrust her body into the air high enough for her feet to land on the couch with enough clearance and composure to land upright on the couch in the space her feet landed? I don’t think the elderly woman would attempt to jump on the couch and just dance using her walker as a way of being able to dance with you.
Now imagine doing the same dance but now you are holding the elderly woman’s walker that ways half of your body weight.
Do you think you will be able to dance the same way?
You would not be able to move your arms the same way but maybe your feet could dance the same way but what about jumping onto the couch while holding the walker?
If you are able to jump on the couch while holding 50 percent of your body weight I think it is safe to say we have an elite athlete on our hands 😉 If you were not able to that is normal to not be able to jump off the ground while holding half of your body weight in the same way you can jump off the ground while holding onto zero weight other than your own body weight.
Although you might be able to jump, you might injure yourself if you were to try.
Your body knows what it feels like to jump onto the couch.
Your body knows from experience of having jumped onto the couch before.
You know how heavy the walker is because it is in your hands.
You know what it requires if you are intended to jump on the couch in order to do that and attempt to do that they way you typically would and without having attempted to do that thing in that way (while holding half your body weight) and put to much pressure on one knee by being slightly off balanced when you launched from the ground essentially causing what was in your hands to feel as if it weighed more than it just did before you launched and in an attempt to regrip the walker because you thought it would make it feel less heavy and tweak something on the leg that left the ground ever so slightly before the other leg in an unbalanced launch towards the top of the couch cushion that resulted in abandoning the attempt mid air while releasing the walker and committing in the attempt to with the presence of mind that your knee feels not pain but a pressure that if maintained you believe that would be painful so rather than finding out how far from landing in a way that you would have expected without the walker to find the safest way to get the pressure off the knee and not release the walker in a way that it results in a different result of a similar context as to why you abandoned jumping onto the couch to avoid injury.
There is a guy known as “Knees over toes guy” that has videos on YouTube that discuss mobility and health with an emphasis on range of motion and rehabilitation of legs and knees that you might find interesting.

Today for you I have a post about team sports and more specifically recreational sports that begin with 2 captains taking turns picking 1 person at a time from the non captain players until all players have been chosen. This scenario will leave one player by default on a team that was not selected.
The above concept is something that has kept people (kids and adults) from participating in the team sport activity out of fear they would be the last “picked” and rather than to feel undesirable to just not put themself in that vulnerable scenario by not participating in the activity they genuinely want to not exclude themself from.
It is in my opinion unfortunate every time somebody wants to participate in something that they have been included to do so yet they do not participate out of a fear associated with the activity that has to deal with their perception more than the context they would experience.
Even if they were picked last it does not mean that person is less desirable than others. It means those two particular captains opinions were different than your opinion on what order the players should have been selected including yourself whether or not the captains choosing shared the same opinion.
If a person feels bad about themself because they were chose last I am curious why they would not also feel bad about themself every time a captain chose a person and it wasn’t who they themself would have picked.
Ultimately, perspective is the theme of today’s post.
“It is what it is” is a quote that fits in this scenario in a way that if you allowed yourself to be picked last, what you reflect on does not exclude all that is available to consider beyond that selection process in a way that the actual game once it begins provides a period of time to reflect on that would be more productive than to once again wonder what it would be like to reflect on the game rather than the sideline.
So, one way to look at it is, you did not get picked last, the last player slot was filled through default via the selection process in a way that the captain who received you by default may have been hoping things would occur in this fashion because they believed in your potential in a way that they had a “sleeper pick” (a sleeper pick is a pick that is unassuming as a likely contender for victory if it were not for a known consideration that is a more informed perspective than that of public option with respect to the context being considered).
So perspective being the primary culprit as to why those who would omit from participating in something they want to out of fear of a perceived scenario that may or may not occur having the possibility of what may occur being enough to avoid it all together yet, without consideration as to why someone might be “selected” last potentially being a compliment in some context.
By the way, if you do not want to be picked last, volunteer to be a captain.
If you are “picked” last, it does not mean in a different game you would not have been picked first.

Today for you I have a post about the concept of “breakfast”.
Of course you know what breakfast is but have you ever considered the word rather than its definition?
What I mean is the word breakfast includes two words (at least) that are recognizable inside the word “breakfast”. For example, “break” and “fast” (this is looking at the word as is without rearranging the letters or reading it backwards.)
Of course you could find other words however the words “break” and “fast” are readily available for a reason (or at least this is the way I see it).
That reason is the word “fast”.
You might see the word “fast” and think “quick” but I am talking about refraining from eating.
There are different types of fast but the one I am talking about with respect to eating focuses on food you would eat or drink but not something you would drink if you were thirsty like water although there are “water fast” as well in addition to other types of fast. Something you might have observed is a holiday known “Ash Wednesday” which is a Catholic tradition known as “Lent” in which an individual refrains from something intentionally for a specific period of time however this is done in accordance with a belief system rather than a concept of merely not eating for a period of time that is defined by the individual and or culture.
For example after dinner, there are some cultures who do not snack and the next meal is breakfast (the first meal of the day and in most cultures that meal is prepared and consumed before the sun is highest aka high noon aka noon aka 12:00pm.
So if “fasting” in context of today’s post means “to not eat” then after dinner the “fasting” begins and endures until the meal first consumed the following morning at which point the fast has been “broken” and this concept is to “break fast” and in a single word “breakfast”.
So breakfast does not really mean the first meal of the day, the type of food you eat (breakfast food), the time of day you eat, the time you ate last, but it is a symbol (when written in English and observed) than can be utilized as a word with definition or as a concept with multiple considerations comprising the components that would be utilized to form an example that would describe what breakfast is as to why it is observed in such a way with respect to the symbol’s intended association (my words).

TDIHRE# APRIL 28 2026: Today what came to mind when typing in today's date was the concept of a "loving reminder". This is something I have talked about before on our blog (I think) but just in case the concept is when you intentionally associate something with something else that is meant to be a reminder of something that may or may not have anything to do with what is utilized as the "reminder". For example when I find myself distracted, I return to intent by saying "I Love My Kids" or "Eyes to the Future". Both mean "Return to Intent" meaning back to what it was I was doing before I noticed I was not doing what it was in that moment I had intended to be doing but I also get to say and hear myself say "I Love My Kids" and when I say "Eyes to the Future" that also means "I Love My Kids". Multiple ways of reminding myself of what is important and the task at hand.

Today for you I have a post about perspective.
I am currently at my local diner
GOOD TRUCKIN DINER
waiting for my breakfast.
It is (as with every werkend) totally jam packed with people in line by the door.
I knee before I arrived to the diner that it would be busy and wait time for food and service would be longer than a weekday.
In my opinion the food is worth the wait and luckily for me I am flying solo so I can sit at the diner’s service counter rather than needing a table.
In addition to not needing a tablr, i have a number of things I can do that i have yet to do today.
First off, I sent you a video saying hello and I love you.
Then I started this post.
Next I will check my email (correo electrónico 🇲🇽).
So rather than a “long wait” I am seeing how much I can get done before breakfast arrives.
