Today for you I have a post about various “go to”s when it comes to international norms with various types of food.

For example beans are an interesting food with respect to how many variations you might find them in different international cuisine.

I also learned that green beans are “technically” beans but in a different stage of maturity than the dried bean the plant produces when matured.

Below are some of the top bean consuming countries with the most common bean consumed.

Mexico refrained beans
USA baked beans
China bean paste from the adzuki bean)

“They” say beans are the “magical fruit”… rather than a dad joke about beans I would ask why do you think they might have been called magical?

Today for you I have a post about a question or a concept I was thinking about.

What is something that you do that takes less than 5 minutes that feels like it is 5 minutes too long?

Brushing teeth, drying off your feet in between your toes, washing your hair and other things you might do on a daily basis all normally take less than 5 minutes.

When I wash my hands it is on average a certain amount of time that I am actually unaware of however there are moments when I feel like I have not washed my hands long enough or for too long and it has more to do with length of time rather than the task at hand (no pun intended).

For me, filling out administrative paperwork that takes less than 5 minutes can feel longer than 5 minutes.

Does anything come to mind?

Today for you I have a post about songs with the same title but are actually different songs.

For example one of my favorite songs is also the name of a song that I also really enjoy with the title of each song being “Father and Son”.

The songs are both very different and also very similar. The ways that they are similar may have mostly to do with the title of the song and how it makes me feel when I think about you.

One song has no words yet it is more profound emotionally for me to listen to than the song that contains lyrics that reflect the title of the song.

Today for you I have a post about a card game I am about to make up using a piece of paper to create a space for the cards to interact with.

Here is where I am at with a pic so far.

So what I came up with involves one stand 52 card deck and two 6 sided dice.

You roll the dice and with a shuffled deck turn one card over at a time until you get that number, Aces are worth 11 and if you roll a 12 it is worth 2.

Once you get that number you move that entire stack of turned cards with the card that you rolled on top of that stack.

Roll the dice again and repeat until you have stacks that will allow you to when adding those cards up equal 21.

For example if you roll a 10 and complete the stack by turning one card at a time from the fresh 52 card deck and it is the 6th card you turned over you move the 10 card with the other 5 cards under it to “stack 1”.

If you rolled an 11 on the second roll and on the 2nd card you you turn over from the remaining 48 cards in the deck you move the Ace and the card below it to “stack 2” and you now have enough stacks to equal 21 (10 plus 11).

If you had 5 stacks with stack 1 (4) stack 2 (3) stack 3 (10) stack 4 (3) and stack 5 (4) you can get 21 out of stack 1, stack 3, stack 4 and stack 5 to get 21.

You get one re roll and you have to use it before the last card is used in the shuffled deck.

If you can not total 21 with your stacks before you “hit a wall” by running out of cards in the shuffled deck to turn over in order to get the card that equals the dice you have completed the game without scoring 21.

Today for you I have a post about moving from a street that I grew up on but not the street I grew up on.

One of the homes I spent the most time in growing up was on a street named the south version of the north street I currently live on.

I thought this was kinda neat considering I do not have the name of the street I am moving to next but it makes me wonder it will be and if I have ever lived on a street with that name before.
